Individual Psychotherapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Starting in graduate school, Dr. Lang has completed extensive clinical training in ACT with the treatment developers (Dr. Steven Hayes, Dr. Kelly Wilson) and has used it in applied research studies for the treatment of insomnia, PTSD, depression, anxiety, end of life, and chronic health conditions.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
In both graduate school and internship, Dr. Lang has learned how to apply CBT to a brief therapy approach so patients receive rapid improvement in symptoms. He also completed training with Dr. David Burns, an influential pioneer and trainer in CBT.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Dr. Lang is a certified CPT provider and completed training with Dr. Kathleen Chard and extensive case consultation as part of that certification.
Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality
Dr. Lang learned this approach from Dr. Thomas Ellis with the Menninger Clinic during internship didactics training.
Exposure and Response Prevention
Dr. Lang completed the intensive Behavioral Therapy Training Institute and case consultation with the International OCD Foundation.
Interoceptive Exposure Therapy
As a health psychologist who trained extensively in behavioral medicine with Dr. William O’Brien, Dr. Lang has used interoceptive exposure therapy to effectively treat panic disorder and health anxiety.
Motivational Interviewing
Dr. Lang is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers and has applied motivational interviewing to a large variety of physical and mental health behavior change goals in both clinical and research settings, including research with Brown University.
Prolonged Exposure
Dr. Lang received training in Prolonged Exposure from the Center for Deployment Psychology and uses this approach regularly in the treatment of PTSD.
Relapse Prevention
Dr. Lang has learned and applied Relapse Prevention to the treatment of Addiction and other chronic conditions beginning in graduate school with his research focus being the treatment of addiction.
Written Exposure Therapy
Dr. Lang received training from the treatment developers (Dr. Sloan and Dr. Marx), was part of the national roll-out of the treatment, and presented clinical feedback as part of a national conference presentation about the roll out of Written Exposure Therapy for PTSD.
Forensic Evaluation and Expert Testimony
During his post-doctoral training years, Dr. Lang began to provide forensic evaluations under the supervision of Dr. Paul Hamilton. He now has over five years of experience in forensic evaluation and expert testimony about psychological assessment, treatment, and research.

Psychological Evaluation
Diagnostic accuracy matters because it informs treatment. Dr. Lang has over ten years of training in psychological evaluation and testing. He has taught graduate level courses in psychological evaluation and has supervised dozens of graduate students in psychological evaluation. He is qualified to administer and interpret a wide variety of psychological tests and measures.
